Dear CTE Community,

We are proud to announce our 2019-2020 Apple Award winning staff members. Our certified winner this year is Michele Whittingham and our classified winner this year is Laurie Olsziewski. Please join me on congratulating them on their award. Both are extremely deserving and vital members of the Cherokee Trail family. In case you are unfamiliar, the Apple Award is an award that is given out by our District based on the nominations of other staff members and parents in our school and community.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
 - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue ... It's Valentine's Week which is normally a pretty crazy week as the students get pretty wound up handing out Valentines and hosting some sugar-filled parties. This year, however, things have seemed a little more subdued. This might be due to the fact that mother nature decided to dump all of the snow that she didn't dump last month. It's been a long time since we had an unexpected snow day followed up pretty closely with a late start (as I write this, guess what? It is snowing again). Other than that, things have been pretty quiet. Students have been working really hard as we start our slow march towards the testing season. January and February are always really good teaching months. On the home front, not much is happening. My oldest is prepping to try out for her HS tennis team which she will not only make but do fairly well despite not having ever played before about a month ago. My youngest tried out for her MS musical and was awarded the prestigious part of Jungle Citizen #15 in Seussical. I have no idea what that part entails but either way it should be interesting to say the least. Well that is it for this week. Sorry it's so short but I am trying to get a lot of things done in case we have another snow day or delayed start tomorrow. Stay tuned next week when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
