Come see and hear your CTE Concert Choir perform two Holiday Concerts!

Thursday December 13th 630pm - CTE Gym

Monday December 17th 630pm - O'Brien Park Gazebo

DECEMBER: COUNSELOR'S CORNER - JANE STEINER Looking to build your child’s character this holiday season? Instead of buying gifts, encourage your child to make “tickets”. They can be good for things such as playing games with a sibling or helping a parent with housework. He or she can draw the tickets on paper and decorate them with markers. Another idea is to have your child create artwork to give as presents. As people show their appreciation for their gift, your child will feel valued and a sense of mastery. Happy Holidays!

FROM THE AP

Safety First! We’ve had a lot of safety concerns related to our crosswalk and carpool line. Please keep the following in mind when traveling by our school. Thanks for your attention to the safety of our community. * Please stay off cell phones while in carpool and crosswalk * When in the carpool line, please pull all the way forward to allow as many cars as possible to pick up students * If you are getting out of your car to help with your child, please park in the parking lot * For your child's safety, there is only one carpool lane, please do not create a double lane to pick up your child * Please remind your child to come straight out to carpool after school so cars aren't waiting and we don’t have a long wait * Please drive the speed limit, or slower * Please be considerate of crossing guards and do not drive through the crosswalk when a crossing guard or any person is in the crosswalk StuCo Parents Night Out Student Council is having a Parents Night Out to raise funds for Wish Week. Please consider enjoying some time getting ready for the holidays or just chillin’. Use this link to RSVP.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER
The Principal Chronicles continue ... As I write this I am sitting on the top floor of the Douglas County Library in a strange blue semi-circle cubicle waiting for my daughter to get done with her confirmation class. If it seems like an odd place to sit and write the Chronicles, it is, but such is the life of a parent with busy kids. I am sure many of my loyal readers can attest to this.

Things at school are humming along, we are in the midst of our winter diagnostic, and we are anxiously awaiting to see how our students have improved since the beginning of the year. Early indications are really good so we are certainly excited. On the home front, I am about to take a short trip to Philadelphia. My significant other works from home with a company out of Philadelphia, and once a month she flies out to spend a few days in the office (which is usually a big change considering her home office looks a lot like our living room). This weekend is also her company's office party (which is why I get to go). So we will be flying out and attending her Christmas party this weekend. It should be pretty fun. Allegedly the party is at the house of the owner of the company, which I am guessing isn't too shabby. I'm sure I'll have quite a few stories to share.

So until next time, when I actually have something funny to share, stay tuned fellow-friends and see you next time when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
