NEWS Help Wanted: Our annual Games Night is scheduled for April 18th. We are looking for someone to share their talents and help coordinate this event. This is a fun night for our community! PSP offers free bingo games and ice cream at this event. We can provide all the information necessary to organize Games Night. Please e-mail PSP if you are interested.

DECEMBER: COUNSELOR'S CORNER - JANE STEINER Looking to build your child’s character this holiday season? Instead of buying gifts, encourage your child to make “tickets”. They can be good for things such as playing games with a sibling or helping a parent with housework. He or she can draw the tickets on paper and decorate them with markers. Another idea is to have your child create artwork to give as presents. As people show their appreciation for their gift, your child will feel valued and a sense of mastery. Happy Holidays!

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER
The Principal Chronicles continue ... This past weekend was an interesting one for me on the home front. My significant other works from home but for an office based in Philadelphia. So this past weekend we flew out to attend her Christmas party and do the tourist thing in the beautiful city of Philadelphia. I'm not sure if any of you have ever been there; it is truly a wonderful city. Great people, tons of history, and some pretty good food on top of that. On the first day we went to go see the Liberty Bell, the Declaration of Independence, and every other historical place we could find. As we went through the different tours, we discovered that the real Declaration of Independence is housed in Washington DC and was written in the building we were touring. Also, we think we saw a fake Liberty Bell and not the real one. It was really cool to learn the history but it was a little sad not to see the real things. We also checked out the Philadelphia Art Museum which was pretty cool but I did question whether several were actual art pieces. In the "modern" art section, we found some extremely interesting things that, honestly, my verbal interpretation doesn't do the actual art piece justice. As an example, one looked like a giant strip of brown-colored dried glue. I'm definitely not an art expert, but it sure looked like spackle to me. Note to self: next time I am doing work around the house, save some of the scraps and submit it to the Denver Art museum. Couldn't hurt right? The main part of our journey was all about the food. Most of my fellow readers know that I am very selective about what kind of food I eat, but typically, on vacation, I let loose. Case in point: we just happened to walk by the cake store where they film "Cake Boss" and I went in and cleaned out a piece of cookies and cream fudge cake at 10:00 AM. I also had Insomnia cookies about three times when I was there (if you don't know what that is, Google it but don't blame me when you become addicted - let's just leave it at "they deliver"). Not only that, at the airport on the way back I had a gigantic Philly cheesesteak sandwich because: when in Philly, one must partake in the local customs. Overall it was a great trip, and by the way, the Christmas party was a lot of fun too. We definitely won the contest for farthest distance traveled to a party. Until next time, we will see you on the flip side when the Principal Chronicles continues....
