About Me

Hello Second Grade Families,

My name is Tracy Bruce and I am excited to be teaching 2nd Grade again this year (the BEST grade ever!). I received my BA from Fort Lewis College and my MA from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Specialist Certification). This will be my eighth year at CTE!

Although I am originally from Colorado, I began my teaching career as a First Grade, DoDDS teacher in the Republic of Panama, where I met my husband. Having had to move often as an Air Force spouse, I’ve had many diverse experiences. I’ve taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th Grade, a 1st-2nd grade combination class and have worked as a Reading Specialist.

After my first child was born, I spent time as a volunteer on Air Force bases and at my children’s schools. This experience has provided me with a great appreciation for all of our CTE volunteers. Thank you!!

In 2014, my husband retired from the Air Force and we decided to settle in Parker. Our children attended Cherokee Trail Elementary, and we have seen the positive impact CTE’s focus on being EPIC'ER has had on our own children (EPIC'ER: Show Enthusiasm, Commit to Persevere, Demonstrate Integrity, Be Courageous, Advocate Empathy, Exemplify Respect).

I look forward to getting to know all of my students, and fostering an environment in which they feel safe, respected, proud, determined, curious, and have fun learning!  My classroom culture is always a priority of mine. With a strong parent-teacher partnership, I know we are going to have an AMAZING year together!!

Warmly,

Tracy Bruce
