FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue ... Happy almost Spring Break!! For the first time since I have been in DCSD, I'll be having only a one week Spring Break. I'm good with the shorter break because I would rather have a longer summer but it was always nice in the past. This year my break involves quite a bit of travel. I start off the week going to Atlanta to see a school which is expert in Design Thinking so I am pretty excited to see how they do it. Plus I have never been to Atlanta so that should be interesting. I think I read somewhere that Coca-Cola has its headquarters there and they don't serve any Pepsi. Anywhere. Luckily I don't drink soda so it shouldn't be a big deal. Next, since my two daughters don't have a break at the same time, my youngest and I are going to my parents' house in Estes Park. They have the Estes version of the Taste of Colorado going on which is pretty fun. Basically, a bunch of restaurants offer small versions of their regular menu items and so people come in, get a quick bite, and then move on to a different restaurant. Last time we hit about 8 different restaurants in one night. It was totally crazy but something different. Lastly, I am headed off to Pittsburgh to recruit teachers to come to DCSD. Allegedly the Pittsburgh job fair is one of the largest in the county. Plus I found out this morning, from Ms. Funera, that Pittsburgh is The City of Bridges. Who knew?? Not sure what the prerequisite is for the number of bridges needed to qualify as a "city of bridges" but I guess I'll find out. I also need to figure out what the local cuisine is for these different places. Every time I travel I like to eat the food that city is famous for. Like in Kansas City you need to have BBQ ribs and then in Philly, you have to have a Philly Cheesesteak. I'm guessing Atlanta maybe Chick-Fil-A and Coke?? No clue about Pittsburgh but I'm sure I'll find out. That is it for this week. Have a happy and safe Spring Break, and we will see you all when you get back. We will be heading into the home stretch. Man did this year fly by (as it always does). Until next time when the Principal Chronicles continues....
