system structures

In 5th grade, we have started exploring the internal and external structures of all living organisms; plants, animals, and humans alike! We have been able to get our hands dirty in our explorations of plants, examining their internal structures and their specific functions. Specifically how water is transported throughout a plant. We also got up and active as we moved through the major human body systems. Students became 'blood' as they walked their way through each important system of our bodies, investigating how they work together to keep us healthy. We will use this knowledge to inquire about how and why living things adapt to overcome challenges.
