EPICER @ CTE THIS WEEK

Each month we focus more closely on one trait - this month's EPICER trait is: PERSEVERANCE.

FROM SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING - MRS. DUNKER

What’s Happening in Social Emotional Wellness?

When we return from break, we will try out some new ways to help regulate our dysregulated nervous systems. Older kids will use pencil design drawings, while younger students will use mindful listening and mindful movement to help calm their dysregulated nervous systems. Be sure to ask your child(ren) to share what they do in Wellness.

UPCOMING CALENDAR HIGHLIGHTS

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue....

The warp speed of the year has already brought us to Thanksgiving break. So in honor of my annual tradition of what I am thankful for, here is my 2021 list.

- My health and the health of my family, students, staff, and community

- My job, even after 8 years I still feel very fortunate to be here

- My daughter who has become the other pea in my pod

- Spinach - I think I eat spinach more than anything else in the whole world

- The ability to travel, this past year I was very much reminded how much I enjoy seeing the world

 - Vans - the greatest shoe company in the world

- Podcasts at double speed - if you don't listen to them at double speed, you are missing out

- My parents - who still text me encouraging messages at least once a week ... that and copious amounts of coupons

- My apartment pool - although I don't love living in an apartment, it sure is nice to have a heated pool all winter

- The staff of Cherokee Trail - I've never been associated with a group of people so dedicated to students and dedicated to becoming better teachers

- The community of Cherokee Trail - it is so nice to be supported by a community that looks at our students the same way we do, like family

- Ski passes - going to try and get back to my younger years and hit the slopes more often

That is it for this week, I am grateful to all of my loyal readers. Thank you for reading all of this nonsense week after week. See you next time when the Principal Chronicles continues. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving, and as always, make good food choices.
