The Principal Chronicles continue ... As I write this on Wednesday, it's raining and not very nice outside and is supposed to be not very nice for the next few days. BOOOO!! I am fully ready to have nice summer weather. Why do I care so much about the weather you ask? Well, I have a few races coming up for which I would love it to be nice.
Some of my loyal readers will remember that I try to compete in one race a month and have been doing that for almost two years now. During winter I came up with the stupid idea of doing two separate winter distance series which means I did two races a month through the winter. That, of course, led to me thinking I could do any race in any month (you can see where this is headed). So that brings us to this weekend, my Crossfit gym decided that doing all of the really hard workouts during the week wasn't enough punishment and decided to do a Spartan race. Being highly susceptible to gym peer pressure when it comes to athletic endeavors, I decided to sign up (which is really going to be the most expensive t-shirt I own). Little did I realize that I had already signed up for a race the day before (silly me added to my calendar at 8 PM instead of 8 AM so I didn't think I had anything that weekend). So now I am driving to Larkspur to compete in the Greenland Trail Race (on trails with a slight chance for mud and grossness during the race) and then on Sunday I'll be driving to Colorado Springs to compete in the Spartan Sprint Race (on trails, with obstacles, with a 100% chance for mud and grossness). If that wasn't tough enough, I have another race the following weekend as well. Whoever signed me up for all of these races clearly wasn't thinking. Oh, wait.......
That is it for this week, see you next time (assuming I can walk under my own power) when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
