ART INSTALLATIONS

Since 1992 Walter Barton, CTE's art teacher, has been planning and creating varied media art projects with students in their 6th grade year. This has become a beloved and much anticipated rite of passage for our students. These permanent art installations are unique in our District, and are one of the hallmarks of our school. Just walk the halls of CTE and you are taking a trip through the school's history, and the thousands of students who have left a memorial within these walls!

As you walk through the halls of CTE and encounter the art of past students created during their time here, see what they saw.  There is a mural dedicated to 9/11 made by a class that was in kindergarten when it happened, art of favorite movies or books, that captured children’s imaginations, Colorado favorite activities, land and animals, their experience of the pandemic,  favorite sports, art dedicated to lost classmates, an outdoor gaga ball pit, humorous work, overall the creative, joyful, art of children who still see the world as wondrous and exciting who want to share with you their perspectives.

In 2024 some installations had to be taken down due to age / disrepair. But to preserve their legacy, they were captured digitally and can be seen here:
