Hi!! I am Mrs. Jahner.
Welcome to 3rd grade! I am excited to be apart of this team of amazing teachers for the BEST GRADE EVER!!

This will be my second year teaching. Last school year I taught 6th grade Literacy. I have my Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Yes...at one point in my life I wanted to be a police officer. I am currently attending University of Colorado Denver to obtain my teaching licensure with the state.

My life is busy outside of teaching...who's isn't? I have two daughters Olivia (15) and Lainey (12). Both my daughters attended CTE. Olivia will be in 11th grade and is attending school on-line. Lainey will be a 7th grader and is attending Sierra Middle School.

I have been a part of the school community for 12 years and on staff for seven of those years. I started as a classroom parent/volunteer. Next, I was an EA, then an Interventionist EA and now a teacher. Before I landed at CTE, I worked for Cherry Creek School District as a middle school security specialist (that was interesting) and a bus driver for Cherry Creek High School (even more interesting).

My husband works for a financial institution and is currently obtaining his Master's degree from University of Denver in Project Management. He has his sights set to work for a private consulting firm after his graduation next spring.

When school, teaching, work aren't consuming our time, as a family, we love to travel, watch movies, go to the pool, spend time outside, cook/bake, and relax.

I love to exercise, meditate, read, paint, and immerse my brain into wellness and self help research.

My hope for your child is that every day they are in my class: they feel loved, valued, seen, heard and accepted. I look forward to making deeper connections with you, your child, and your family this year. I am truly honored to be your child's 3rd grade teacher. I absolutely know we will have an INCREDIBLE time learning from one another!

Complaints regarding violations of Title VI, (race, national origin), Title IX (sex, gender), Section 504/ADA (handicap or disability), may be filed directly with the Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education, 1244 North Speer Blvd., Suite 310, Denver, CO 80204. Complaints regarding violations of Title VII (employment) and the ADEA (prohibiting age discrimination in employment) may be filed directly with the Federal Office of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 303 E. 17th Ave., Suite 510, Denver, CO 80202, or the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, 1560 Broadway, Suite 1050, Denver, CO 80202.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
