FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue ... What a crazy week this has been and also a lot of firsts this week. We had our first snow day of the school year as well as our first (and hopefully last) quarantine. As many of you know, I get up pretty early to hit the gym by 5AM. Unfortunately for me, I left my house at 4:47 AM and then got the message school had been canceled at 4:50 AM. So I missed out on the best part of a snow day, sleeping in. Oh well, what can you do? Actually, it turned out to be a good thing since for the majority of the day I spent working on my other job as the principal of COVID.

Luckily for us, we were pretty prepared for our quarantine situation so when the call came in we were able to figure things out pretty smoothly. Although going out on quarantine isn't the best, I was extremely proud of how our staff handled the situation.

On the home front, things have been pretty busy as well. As some of you know my parents moved from Estes Park to Fort Collins over the summer which is a good thing since most of Estes is being evacuated at the moment. In fact, my parents are hosting several families right now during the evacuations. Pretty crazy to think with everything that is going on.

Other than that, we are planning to celebrate Thanksgiving with my parents next weekend. As always, we make our girls pick something they need to cook in for the meal. We learned our lesson last year and made sure that they picked things that people actually wanted to eat as well as have some sort of connection to Thanksgiving. In the past they have come up with some pretty silly things, this year it looks like Pumpkin Spice Snickerdoodle Cookies and Green Bean Casserole will be making their debut. Fingers crossed that they turn out.

Well, that is it for this week, stay tuned next week when I might have some more time to write something more witty and entertaining. See you next time when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
