SAC MEETING

The first SAC (School Accountability Committee) meeting was held this week on 17Sep19 - please read the minutes here ... SAC meetings are held quarterly and open to all!

PSP NEWS Fun Run: The Fun Run will take place next Tuesday, Sept. 24th at CTE! This is an opportunity for kids to run some laps with their classmates (during their specials time) and raise funds for our school! Our goal is to raise $25,000! We hope your student came home and told you all about the amazing prizes they can win individually, with their class, and with the whole school! For more information about the Fun Run and to donate online please click on the Fun Run website. You can also send out e-mails directly from this site asking for donations. The password is 'stallions'. Please e-mail us with any questions! Thank you for supporting CTE! Trunk-or-Treat: Mark your calendars for the Third Annual Trunk-or-Treat at CTE, Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Have your kids dress up in their Halloween costumes and go 'Trunk or Treating' in the parking lot at CTE! We will also have games in the gym and a taco truck in the parking lot. We are looking for parents, organizations, sponsors, and volunteers to participate by decorating your trunk and handing out candy. Please contact Christina Clements (720-339-3813) if you are interested in hosting a trunk!

MINDFUL MORNINGS
 - NOELLE DUNKER

Mindful Mornings with Mrs. Dunker will be starting next week.  Please see the information below to learn more about how your 3rd - 6th grade child can get involved.
What is mindfulness? Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way:  on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. This kind of attention nurtures greater awareness, clarity, and acceptance of present-moment reality.” - Jon Kabat-Zinn How can mindfulness help your child?  Mindfulness helps us to better understand our feelings and emotions.  With better understanding, we are able to respond to our feelings and emotions in ways that are healthy.  Mindfulness helps students to be more focused on and attentive to their learning. Mindfulness also improves executive functioning, which carries over into all aspects of life. Join Mrs. Dunker on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to learn how to be more mindful in your life.  It's a wonderful, peaceful way to start your school day. Mindful Mornings is open to students in grades 3rd - 6th.  See below for information about how to sign up and be part of this joyful journey into mindfulness. You can sign up at Mindful Mornings Sign-up
FROM THE AP - ROBIN HUNT

National Walk to School Day! On Wednesday, October 2nd, we will be sponsoring our school’s National Walk to School Day. Here is some information about Safe Routes To School. We will be honoring all those who walk to school with a certificate and a CTE wristband. Be sure to join the fun!

Safety First! Our students have done a fabulous job with the drills we have had thus far. We just completed our second evacuation drill and on Monday we will have our first lockdown drill. The purpose of a lockdown drill is to practice being safe in case something unsafe is inside the building. Anyone within the school building is expected to have “lights out and out of sight”. District personnel will be here to provide feedback during the drill. We always remind our students that we practice safety to be safe in the case of an emergency.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
 - JOSH MILLER The Principal Chronicles continue ... As I write this, it is Tuesday afternoon and I am trying to get this blog out before I leave for Outdoor Ed. Typically I type this up on Wednesday but since I'll be heading out with our 6th grade tomorrow and won't be back until Thursday, I figured I would work to get this done today. Don't worry, next week I'll churn out my annual Outdoor Ed edition of the Scoop. That one is always a fan favorite. For now, I'll leave you with a few reminders.

1. Remember, if you want to walk your student to their class in the morning, please check in at the office. We want to ensure safety for all of our students.

2. Remember to call your parents.

3. Remember how much our staff loves your students. We work every day preparing them for a bright future.

4. Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

5. Remember to support CTE's Fun Run this year.

6. Remember to eat your vegetables.

7. Remember to read with your children.

8. Remember nothing in life is as bad as the Broncos offensive line.

9. Remember to sign up for parent teacher conferences when the sign up comes out in a few weeks.

10. Remember the Alamo.

See you next time when the Principal Chronicles continues.... Outdoor Ed edition.
