Morning with Moms: Please join us for Morning with Moms next Friday, May 3rd at 8am! We will be serving donuts, milk and juice! There will be a chance to support PSP and you'll have an opportunity to win some amazing products and services. If you have any to donate that moms would love, please contact Christina Clements. We are also looking for some Dads to help with set up, serving, and clean up!
School Supply Kits: It's time to start thinking about next school year! If you'd like to save some time this summer you can order a school supply kit that will arrive in the classroom prior to the first day of school. SAVE YOUR POP TABS!

CTE ROCK PAINTING
On April 26, Cherokee Trail students will be participating in the 2nd annual “Make Cherokee Trail Beautiful” challenge by painting rocks for the front entryway to school. Each student will create a design with a positive message to paint on their rock.
Please send students in old clothes and shoes that day, or have them bring an old shirt to put over their clothes as paint may get on students in the process of painting. If you are able to volunteer to help during the time that your child is painting, please contact your child’s teacher directly.

Creating a Positive Bedtime Routine
Nighttime, immediately before sleep, is the time when we're able to reconfigure our mindset (same as right after waking up). Having a positive conversation with your kids - right before sleep - will carry them into the night with gratitude and positivity. Use the link below to make a glowing cube to help foster a positive mindset bedtime ritual.
Each side of the cube has a question such as “What did you learn today?" "What are you grateful for?" "How were you kind today?" Have your kids toss a cube every night before sleep. They will have so much fun answering the questions (and let them ask you one too).

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER
The Principal Chronicles continue ... As we approach the end of our testing season, it is the time of year to see how well our students did on their exams. It's a tough time of year to be a student at Cherokee Trail what with CMAS testing, writing assessments, math assessments, and reading assessments. Although I am confident that most of our kids don't love the testing, it does give us a chance to look at how much they grew during the year.
As I write this, at 4:45 PM on Wednesday evening, not all of our testing is completed - but for those who are done? Holy Cow have they grown! It is downright ridiculous how much our students have improved this year. Our teachers worked so hard with them and it has definitely paid off. I am so very proud to be a part of this staff and so proud of our students for all of their hard work. I will be really looking forward to seeing how we did on our CMAS scores as well! Although we won't get those results any time soon, I am pretty confident we blew the doors off that test. From the bottom of my heart, congratulations to all of our staff and students for their excellent work this year.

- Hi there, it's that time of year again to let you know about the 6th annual 2019 Rock Canyon Film Camp this summer for the aspiring filmmakers incoming grades 6th-9th in the upcoming 2019-20 school year. To register click the School Bucks link on the site above (flyer).
This year's summer camp will run all day from June 10-13th (Monday-Thursday) and for boys and girls entering the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade next year. Camp runs from 9am-3:30pm each day and campers will break for lunch from 11:30-12:15pm (campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day). Registration will be from 8:15-9am Monday morning June 10th in the 4000 Rock Canyon Technology Center. Thursday afternoon we invite your family and friends to join us in viewing the film screenings, highlights, and awards ceremony in the RCHS auditorium from 2:30-3:30pm.
The camp will entail many techniques involved in filmmaking as students will produce various short films throughout the week. Film teachers Scott Melanson (Cimarron Middle School), Jim McClurg (HRHS) and others will be working alongside experienced high school and college film students as mentors throughout the week. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt and shared access to download and or stream all video projects produced at camp.
