THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES - JOSH MILLER
The Principal Chronicles continue ... 2018 here we are. This year has flown by (I think I say that every year at this time). I was talking with two 6th graders this morning about how they both start middle school this year. Both looked at me like I was crazy but then it dawned on them. On that same note, my youngest starts middle school this year as well. Guess I need to start being ok with all of my hair turning grey.
The break went by pretty fast but it was good. We had kind of a strange Christmas. I decided that most of my gifts were going to be unique. (No shock there right?) In the end, my uniqueness really meant that none of them would be delivered by Christmas. Literally, the night before Christmas, I was printing pictures of the gifts that hadn't arrived. In fact, one gift isn't even going to ship until February. I guess this Christmas is one that will keep on giving.
After Christmas day my daughter went back to her mom's house for the remainder of break (our parenting plan calls for one parent to get the first part of break and the other parent gets the second half and since CTE got out so close to Christmas, I missed most of the break with her - the good news is I get most of break next year). Once she left things got really boring so I worked quite a bit from home and did things around the house. I'm not really sure how I got "assigned" so many chores around the house. One day I woke up and there was a list of about 35 different "projects" that "had" to be done. Apparently changing the garbage disposal because it smells like old cheese ranks pretty high on that list. Needless to say, they all got done and the house is as good as new. Well, actually, it is pretty much the same as it was 35 projects ago but who is counting?
That is it for this week, I am off to Florida and Philadelphia for the MLS Combine and Draft. I may or may not be Chronicling next week so stay tuned. Until next time when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
FROM THE AP - ROBIN HUNT
Please STOP at the stop sign near the school and for school buses!
Although this area is not school property, many of our students cross before and after school at this intersection. We've had at least two students almost hit by cars not stopping. Children can be unpredictable, so we ask that you be extra cautious during these times. Also, we've had some reports of cars driving around school buses rather than stopping for them. Thanks so much for your diligence in keeping our students safe!
Congratulations to Tanner Brown for winning the Spelling Bee. Tanner will go on to represent our school in the district Spelling Bee. Good luck!

PSP NEWS
All School Dance: Friday, January 26th, is the All School Dance at CTE from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. This is always a good time for our community! Students must attend the dance with an adult and this dance is for current CTE students only. Admission to the dance is free and we will offer concessions for purchase. A flyer with more information will go home next week. We are in need of volunteers to help with various tasks that night and middle school & high school students are welcome to help! Click on the link to see the volunteer opportunities.
CTE Socks: CTE has socks to show your school spirit! They are $15/pair and come in small or medium sizes. If you'd like a pair fill out the order form and send it back to the office with your student.
Monthly Meeting: Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 23rd at 2:15pm. All are welcome! Topics that will be discussed are upcoming events and we will review PSP grants that are submitted.

Each year our school participates in the life saving event of Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart in alliance with the American Heart Association. We are in need of parent volunteers to help make the event a success. Please click here to to volunteer.
Event Date: Thursday, February 15th during specials times.
Register online to participate in this year's 2018 Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart event. Students can raise money online to help the cause and earn frn prizes. Click HERE to register a student for the event.
