The Principal Chronicles continue ... August has come and gone, and now that we are in school the time just seems to fly by. As I am writing this, it is already late afternoon Wednesday. So far today I have sat in two goal setting conferences, three other meetings, been in five classrooms, and added eleven things on to my to do list. Overall, just another typical day here at CTE. It always amazes me how many things we have going on at the same time. Speaking of lots of things happening at the same time, the second to last week in September is when just about everything happens.

That week we have the following: Chap homecoming, Outdoor ed, a site visit with my director, a site visit with the new superintendent, and just for good measure a staff meeting and a building leadership team meeting. Whoa, I am exhausted just writing it all down. I am sure I'll have some good stories from Outdoor Ed.

A few other things I want to put on your radar that could potentially come up: we are looking at moving our car pool from the cul-de-sac to inside the school parking lot. I have had no less than about 11 meetings about it so far and things are progressing slowly but surely. Keep checking the Chronicles for updates.

That is it for this week because guess what? I am late for a meeting, this time it's with kids. I never want to miss those because meeting with kids is a thousand times better than any other meeting I may have.

Stay tuned until next week when I am way more entertaining than the riff-raff I put in this week.

4th, 5th and 6th Grade Parents,

King Soopers Cards: Want an easy way to support CTE PSP throughout the year? If you shop at King Soopers and/or buy gas at Loaf & Jug, get a King Soopers reloadable card! Every time you reload the card 5% comes back to CTE PSP. That's it! To get a card fill out the form and send it in along with payment. We will get a card to you ASAP that will be loaded with $5. Reload it at the customer service desk or the checkout counter. Thank you for supporting our school!

Outdoor Movie Night: Friday, September 16th, 7:00pm - 9:30pm - Please do not arrive before 7:00pm as we do not have crowd entertainment this year; the movie will begin at approximately 7:45pm. Click on the Movie Survey to help decide what movie will play that night. The movie is FREE and PSP will be selling concessions such as popcorn, candy, water, and caffeine-free soda. Please bring your own chairs & blankets. We are in need of some volunteers to help the night run smoothly. We welcome high school or middle school helpers and they will earn volunteer hours if they work this event. Click here to sign-up for set-up, concession stand work, clean-up, and building monitoring. Thank you! We hope to see you all there!

Annual Fun Run: Tuesday, September 27th is our annual Fun Run and our biggest fundraiser of the year! This year we hope to raise money to support the purchase of technology for our primary grades, K - 2, and to purchase a Raptor Security System for our front office. This is a system that will allow the front office to properly screen every visitor that enters that building. Funds raised will also be used for Teacher Grants we award throughout the year at PSP meetings.
This is not only a chance to raise funds for our school but also an opportunity to promote healthy living! This will be the final run for our Run Club members. The kids always have a great time during the run with the support of music, fans, and classroom pride! Classes are encouraged to pick a theme for the run to truly make it a FUN run! We are also in need of some parents to help mark laps that day, so if you are planning to come and cheer on your student we would appreciate it if you sign up to help.
There will be an assembly about the Fun Run on Monday, September 19th. More information about this event will come home that day.

In certain emergency situations (like last week's Lockout), CTE will send out communication in every format available to us: email, phone, and text. If you have not already done so, please enable your mobile phone number to allow receiving texts - here's how:
1. log in to the Parent Portal
2. click Contact Preferences (lefthand side)
3. click each box in the Text(SMS) row of your mobile phone number (your normal texting fees will apply)
4. click Save
Please contact Anna Hylton with questions.
