FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue....

As I write this, February has finally been put to bed and now we are all looking for warmer weather, flowers, and being one step closer to summer. Here at school, the days are flying by because there is just so much going on. We are working through staffing for next year, prepping for State testing, and of course, those spring behaviors that start once the weather turns nice. I actually started taking bets on how fast my hair will turn grey. Based on the past two weeks, I'll be completely grey by Spring Break.

On the home front, still no house on the horizon and not even any prospects, so that will be a wait and see. In other news, my daughter has decided to try out for the Legend golf team. She had a try-out on Monday that, according to her, was the worst she has played in her entire life (keep in mind she did not want to pick up a golf club at all prior to the try-out, and her last golf outing was hitting four balls at Top Golf during our staff Christmas party). Tuesday went much better, and potentially offered a glimmer of hope for making the team. We have one more try-out tonight (Wednesday) at an actual golf course, and not at the PGA superstore. I thought it was a little odd to have a try-out at a store with my daughter trying to make the team next to an 85 year old man who was trying to find his next putter. While my daughter was trying out with her driver in the PGA superstore's hitting bays, I was wrangled into a one sided conversation with a sales associate about all of the benefits of becoming a member so I could potentially use the hitting bays too. Also, I could use a hitting coach, a new driver, a new putter, and most likely several new golf outfits. I was a little confused as to how she was able to ascertain all of my golf needs with the only words that exited my mouth during the entire 17 minute conversation being "I am here to watch my daughter try-out for her high school golf team". Clearly, she has not witnessed the debacle that is my golf game, as I would need WAY more than what she suggested; I'd have trouble hitting the ocean from the beach.

That is it for this week's edition. Stay tuned for next week when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
