Our school district seeks committee members for the newly formed Mill Bond Exploratory Committee

The charge of the Mill Bond Exploratory Committee (MBEC) would be to explore the needs of the district, both ongoing operational and capital needs, and to assess the feasibility of a successful Mill Levy Override (MLO) and/or Bond issue on the November 2022 ballot. Board of education President Mike Peterson reiterated that the MBEC would be advisory in nature. Any decision regarding a potential Bond and/or MLO would be the decision of the Board of Education.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please fill out an application at the following link. Applications are due by February 4, 2022.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue....

It finally feels like winter with all of the snow and the cold weather. It is also the last week in January which seems crazy that we are already through the first month of the new year. As I have said many times, this time of year truly flies by. As I write this, I'll be getting my school budget for next year, and living in two different school years officially begins. It is such a weird part of my job to be working in our current school year and simultaneously working on next year as well. The next school year seems so far off and so many things change between now and then but this is the nature of the beast. We plan ahead and then make adjustments along the way, it kind of sounds like the life we all have been living for the last two years.

On the home front, not a lot is going on. For the second straight year, I am spending my time away from school packing and preparing to move (again) at the end of February. Moving is not an enjoyable experience, especially since we just moved 11 months ago. Assuming I don't have to sell my kidney to afford a house, we should be able to settle into someplace and stay for a few years until my daughter goes off to college. I really wish I had some better stories but honestly, my life is really: get up, workout, go to work, come home, pack, go to sleep, rinse, and repeat. Over and over and over again. I guess it really is Groundhog Day.

That is it for this week's edition, stay tuned next week when the Principal Chronicles continue. See you next time.
