FROM SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING - MRS. DUNKER

What’s Happening in Social Emotional Wellness?
This week in Social Emotional Wellness, we will be taking a close look at “gratitude”. Often gratitude is looked at through the lens of people who we are grateful to have in our lives.  This week we will look at gratitude as the things around us that bring beauty to our everyday existence. This broadens our lens to be more open to finding people, places, things, and ideas that enhance our lives.

UPCOMING CALENDAR HIGHLIGHTS

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continues....

Winter is here and the cold weather has set in, wait what?? It's like 80 degrees out every day and it's November. I literally went to the outdoor pool last weekend. I don't think I have ever made that statement in November in my entire life.

On the school side, we had a wonderful Halloween and it was so nice to see our parents back in the building. It was the first time our students were able to have a real party in almost two years. Crazy to think the last time our students had a "normal" party at school was Valentine's Day 2020. That is a long time.

On the home front, my daughter had a "lock in" at her church for confirmation. Some strange individual thought it would be a good idea to lock in 30 teenagers into a church to spend the night. To start the evening off, my daughter had no idea this was happening so I had to pack all of her stuff in secret so they could "kidnap" her. For those of you who know me know that I rarely venture into the "bog of eternal stench", aka" her room. It took my close to 45 minutes to find the right clothes that were A) clean and B) were fashionably acceptable. I literally had to wade through a sea of clothes and junk to put a bag together.

Once she was kidnapped, they took her and her confirmation class to Goodwill to purchase some clothes that they wore at Boondocks. So if you were there last Saturday and saw a bunch of strangely dressed high school students, that would have been her. After golf, they went back to the church and played games and talked until roughly 4 AM and then had to turn around and attend the church service in the morning at 8 AM. Needless to say, when I picked her up she looked like the walking representation of her room, a complete mess.

That is it for this week's edition. Stay tuned next week when the Principal Chronicles continues...
