COUNSELOR'S CORNER - JANE STEINER

JANUARY

Finally 2021!  I can’t believe we are halfway through the school year!

Let’s talk about our children and the media! The media has a strong influence on our children. It can shape their self-esteem and body image as well as expose them to information about violence and crime. Please read the links below for information on how families can be more informed and can better assist their child(ren) in developing healthy!

DCSD recently hosted a highly anticipated virtual event with Nick Thompson “Helping Your Student Cope with Change”. You can watch the recorded event here. I guarantee you will find it very informative and engaging!  Many practical topics were covered from how to help your child with anxiety to having difficult conversations.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue ...

Welcome to 2021!! I think all of us were happy to start a new year after all of the fun and excitement of last year. Unfortunately, a lot of the current circumstances didn't instantly go away. I am hopeful that in the future a return to normalcy will happen.

As for Winter break, I wish I had great stories to share but honestly, we were pretty much locked down for the entire break. We didn't really go anywhere or see anyone. We basically holed up and watched Netflix. It was safe but super boring. I was actually pretty excited to get back to school.

That is it for this week, next week I'll be back with something fun and exciting because now that the kids are back, good stories are sure to follow. See you next time when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
